DENVER: The slow process of jury selection began here in the trial of the second suspect charged in the 1995 Oklahoma city bombing. Terry Nichols, 42, sat impassively as his mother Joyce Wilt watched from the public gallery as the jury selection process began on Monday in the same courthouse where Timothy McVeigh was sentenced to die last June for his part in the bombing.

Thatcher probe

BUENOS AIRES: Argentina’s supreme court has ordered a judge to probe the role of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the sinking of an Argentine ship during the Falklands war, court officials have said. Federal judge Maria Servini De Cubria will head the investigation. Some 300 Argentine sailors perished but 800 were rescued.

Premier indicted

MILAN: Former Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi was indicted on Tuesday on charges of tax evasion and falsification of financial statements, the prosecutor’s office said. The media magnate and opposition leader sought to conceal $2.9 million in 1991, according to the charges.
