Maradona eyeing plum post
BUENOS AIRES: Diego Maradona said today he was considering a proposal by an opposition faction within Italy’s Napoli to make him president of the club, which is in dire economic and sport straits.
In a television interview, Maradona, who announced his retirement as a player two months ago, said that in the coming days he was sending a representative, Guillermo Coppola, to Italy to analyse the offer.
But he made it clear he wanted wide powers to try to bail out Napoli, now at the bottom in the Italian league standings.
