CHANDIGARH, Oct 21: Guru Gobind Singh College, Club-26 beat Govt Girls School-8 by 20-8 in the girls section in the inaugural match of the Chandigarh State junior handball championship at the DAV School in Sector 8, today.

In another match Handball Coaching Club defeated Govt Model High School-29, 22-14.

In the boys group, Coaching Centre-35 outplayed Coaching Centre-23 by 21-9.

Para Mount Club beat National Club 15-12, 13-15, 16-14, to lift title in the second Charandeep Singh Memorial shooting ball tournament held at SAS Nagar.

Honey shines
Honey Bhalla beat Gagan Singh 99-18, 98-58, 87-11, 60-48 in the open snooker event in the Asia snooker and pool prize money tournament at the Asia Billiards Club in Sector 34, today.

In amateur snooker, Abhinav beat Triptaran 2-0 while Robin got the better of Amit 2-0. In another match Sunil Kanwar defeated Naman Nagpal 2-1.

A massive fire gutted a bus in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Several people are feared to have died in the fire. The Volvo bus, carrying 40 people, was reportedly going from Hyderabad to Bengaluru.
