A high profile gathering attended seminar on Guru Granth Sahib which was held at GGN Khalsa College, to mark the tercentenary of Gurgaddi Divas of Guru Granth Sahib here today. Dr Swarn Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary, Cultural Affairs Govt. of Punjab inaugurated the seminar and Justice Janab Syad Afzal Hydar, Former Law Minister of Pakistan and Judge in the Federal Sharial Court, who has transliterated “Sukhmani Sahib” and other Sikh Scriptures, presided over the function. Dr.J S Grewal, Eminent Sikh Historian and Former Vice Chancellor GNDU delivered the key note address. Prof. Prithipal Singh Kapur, Former Pro. Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council set the proceedings rolling by making a welcome address to the distinguished speakers and audience alike on this occasion. Introducing all the speakers, Prof. Kapur underlined the need for conduct of such a seminar by some institution or university.In his inaugural address Dr.Swarn Singh IAS spoke extensively on the history of Sikh Gurus and their contribution to the sacred book Guru Granth Sahib. Dr.Swarn Singh informed the audience about the developmental plans of Governmental agencies of the places of rich heritage associated with Sikh Gurus and Sikh history.Dr.J S Grewal, Former vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University and Eminent Sikh Historian while delivering the key note address, referred to his forth coming book on Guru Granth Sahib.
