CHANDIGARH, Sept 3: On the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the complete statements of a German couple alleging misbehaviour by a deputy general manager of the Reserve Bank of India have been recorded by the police.

In her statement enclosed along with the petition, Karin Fichtner stated that S.K. Sharma, after enquiring about her and her friend8217;s age, questioned her regarding their sexual life. He even enquired about her evening schedule, she alleged.

Herbert Pausch, in his statement, added that he was informed regarding the incident by Karin while they were leaving the Bank. He added that Sharma came over to their hotel after giving them a call in the evening. Earlier, disposing of their petition, Justice T.H.B. Chalapathi of the High Court directed the Station House Officer of the Sector 17 police station to record the statements of the petitioners.

Justice Chalapathi also granted the petitioners quot;liberty to visit any place in Indiaquot;. The directions were issued after the counsel for the UT assured the court that their complete statements would be recorded and their presence would not be required for the purpose of further investigation. The couple, in their petition before the High Court, had earlier stated that their complete statements could not be recorded due to certain reasons. The counsel for the petitioners Terminder Singh had added that the couple were unable to leave the city as their complete statements had not been recorded.
