LONDON, APRIL 19: Saurav Ganguly put up a fine all-round display to help Lancashire to a comprehensive nine-wicket win against Durham in a rain-hit Benson and Hedges Cup North division match at Riverside on Tuesday.

The Indian skipper, Lancashire’s new overseas player, claimed three wickets for seven runs in two overs as Durham were restricted to 53 for eight in 10 overs.

The Calcutta southpaw then scored an unbeaten 22 runs, including a four and a six off the last over by Neil Killeen to finish the match, as Lancashire overtook the target in 6.5 overs losing just one wicket. Ganguly earned the gold award for his sterling performance.

Brief Scores: Durham 53 for 8 in 10 overs (JJB Lewis 10, Ganguly 3/7, Martin 2/6) lost to Lancashire 55/1 in 6.5 overs (Ganguly 22 no, JP Crawley 20).
