Friends of Animals

PUNE: The Poona Uptown Junior Chamber has founded `The Friends of Animals – Pimpri-Chinchwad’, an organisation for the care of animals. The organisation proposes to work together with PCMC to carry out various animal related programmes like creation of mass awareness in schools about pet care, rabies prevention and control. It also proposes to help in care of stray animals.

PUNE: The induction ceremony of the elected office bearers of the Lions Club of Pune-Chinchwad took place on 24th July at Hotel Chavdi, Chinchwad. Dr. S.A. Katekari was elected the charter president, R.S. Salve, the charter secretary. The other office bearers are as follows : B.B. Shetty, treasurer, Dr. S.V. Kulkarni, 1st vice president, Dr. Parna Katekari, 2nd vice president and S.M. Wadekar, 3rd vice president.

Scholarship exam centre
PUNE: The centre for Scholarship Examination February, 2000 will be the Vidyaniketan Primary School, Pimprigaon. Distribution and collection of application forms,, seating arrangements, results of the exam and other activities related to the exam will be done at the school. The date for submission of application forms is as follows : without late fees – 20/9/99 and with late fees – 27/9/99. Date of exam – 20/2/2000, said a press release from the Education Department, PCMC.
