Fresh non-bailable arrest warrants were issued by a court here against suspended Orissa IPS officer B B Mohanty and his son Bitti Mohanty on Thursday. The court has directed the Orissa Police to ensure that the warrants are served on them. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajendra Bansal, after issuing the warrants against the duo, directed Deputy Superintendent of Police, Cuttack, Pradeep Kumar to ensure that these were served. The court also directed Kumar, who was present in the court, to inform the court if the police fail to do so by November 15. This is for the second time that a non-bailable warrant has been issued against senior Mohanty, whose son—a rape convict who was awarded seven years in jail last year—jumped parole and is missing for more than 10 months now.
