Fresh chargesheet against Advani, 7 others in Babri case

A supplementary chargesheet was today filed against Dy Prime Minister L.K. Advani and seven others by the CBI in a special court here in the Babri Masjid demolition case. The court had granted the agency time till today to file the supplementary chargesheet.

The special court exempted Advani, his Cabinet colleague Murli Manohar Joshi and six other accused in the case from personal appearance today. It posted the matter for further hearing to June 13 and asked the CBI to furnish copies of the supplementary chargesheet to the defendants.

The court directed the CBI to produce before it the investigation report prepared by the CB-CID on the demolition. The case was initially given to the CB-CID.
