Kochi, May 3: Four players shared the top position registering first round victories in the Tal Chess Academy’s Fide-rated All-India chess tournament for the Air Travel Enterprises Trophy here on Tuesday.

Unas was in devastating form against former National junior No.2 TJ Suresh Kumar of ICF. Unas created a passed pawn and won the queen and pawn ending in style. After 44 moves Suresh Kumar realised he could not stop Unas’ king-pawn.

Muraleedharan and Vsihnuvardhan scored over PV Girish and Ganesh Bhat respectively, while UC Mohanan and Prathap Mohan drew their match after 54 moves.

Local players KV Alfred and PS Ameer played a quick drawin 11 moves.

Twelve players are competing in this tournament which is played in a round robin format. Four players are looking for rating from this tournament.
