CHANDIGARH, AUGUST 16: Four Indians have gained entry into the World Cup Shooting finals following their commendable performances throughout the season in the World Cups held in Sydney, Milan, Munich, Atlanta and Delhi.
The season-ending World Cup finals will be held for shotgun events in Nicosia, Cyprus from October 18 to 23, while the World Cup finals for the Air Rifle event will be hosted by Munich in Germany from November 14 to 19, later this year.
Anjali Vedpathak, who made the finals of the World Cups in Sydney, Milan and Munich has qualified for the Women’s Air Rifle event, gathering 13 points each in the three meets.
Another ace Air Rifle shooter, Abhinav Bindra, who equalled the world junior record of 596/600 in the Munich World Cup and will be representing India in the Sydney Olympics, has also qualified for the finals with 16 points.
Trap shooter Manavjit Singh has made the grade with eight points and double Trap shooter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has grabbed a spot for the finals with seven points.
