Braving rough weather and stiff competition, Himachal lad Suresh Rana emerged victorious in the Xtreme 4 wheeler category at the Ninth Raid-de-Himalya, which was forced to an early halt in Manali today, owing to bad weather. The victory is the fourth win in a row for Suresh. Driving his Maruti Gypsy, Suresh clocked in with 1:37:15 penalty points followed closely by Harpreet Singh Bawa with 1:52:29 penalty points. Capt A.S. Brar with 1:57:39 penalty points came in third. In the Xtreme 2 wheeler category Ashish Moudgil with 1:56:57 penalty points came in first, followed by Sandeep Singh Matharu who gathered 2:20:04 penalty points, was placed at the second place. Sachin R. Chavan came in third with 2:29:41 penalty points. The third category of adventure trial, which is for amateurs only, saw Rajesh Chalana emerging triumphant with 0:15:03 penalty points. He was followed by Kartik Singh Bedi and Yogesh Bansal at the second and third positions with 0:47:46 and 0:54:20 penalty points respectively.
