CHANDIGARH, Jan 6: In a sensational incident, former Haryana Minister Balbir Pal Shah was seriously injured by two persons suspected to be associates of his Nepali servants, at his residence in Panipat today. The assailants escaped with cash and jewellery. The servants are also missing.The incident took place when two young boys with covered faces entered his house and attacked him with lathis and iron rods at around 10 am. They injured the former minister and ransacked the house. Shah, who was alone in the house as his wife had gone to Delhi, received a fracture and an injury on his forehead. He was admitted in Madan Hospital in Panipat and is reported to be out of danger.According to SP, the assailants were associates of the two Nepali servants hired by the former minister last month with the help of Sita Ram Nepali, who is also missing. The police have registered a case of robbery and rushed parties to various places to apprehend the culprits. The incident has evoked strong condemnation from Chief Minister Bansi Lal, who directed the local police to make every possible effort to nab the culprits.
