Mounting pressure on LJP President Ramvilas Paswan, party national general secretary Nagmani today advised him to mend fences with JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar and strive together to form a government. The issue of taking outside or inside support from BJP can be resolved later, he said.
‘‘People want a government minus RJD of Lalu Prasad. Paswan and Nitish should come together to cobble a majority to form a non-RJD government to fulfil the long-cherished dream and aspirations of people,’’ Nagmani told reporters here.
Claiming Paswan was ‘‘a natural claimant’’ for the post of chief minister as he was instrumental in dislodging the RJD regime, he said. In case of any differences on this issue, the two leaders (Paswan and Nitish) should take independents and like-minded smaller parties into confidence to take a decision, he added.
‘‘What is most important is installation of a non-RJD government as people will not forgive those who will block the way of government-formation,’’ Nagmani said apparently referring to Paswan’s intransigence over taking support from BJP to form a popular government.
Last week, an LJP MLA had also urged Paswan for deciding soon on government-formation in Bihar.
He alleged that Central rule was ‘‘directly or indirectly helping the RJD as its leader Lalu Prasad was controlling the administration as usual which is evident from the delay in shifting of officials of his choice.’’
