The trail of money in the PPSC scam seems to be unending. Today, the Vigilance Bureau (VB) unearthed records of several properties in the name of the PPSC chairman Ravinder Paul Sidhu’s frontman Randhir Singh Gill, alias Dheera. Taken along with gold ornaments recovered from bank lockers, the VB estimates put Dheera’s net worth at Rs 11 crore.

The details of the property include several in prime commercial areas of Ludhiana and others spread out across the state. In Ludhiana, Dheera owns a shop-cum-flat at Feroze Gandhi market that has been assessed at Rs 1.65 crore.

Physical verification of a plot owned by Dheera’s son in Theereke village across the railway lines near the upmarket BRS nagar showed that the plot was of 1000 sq yards, estimated at Rs 80 lakh, and not 500 sq yards as revealed earlier by Dheera’s wife Rajwinder Kaur. While 500 yards of the plot is in his son’s name, the rest is owned benami. His BRS Nagar home is valued at Rs 1 crore and he also made Rs 20 lakh by selling a plot in Rajguru Nagar, Ludhiana, just two months ago.

The other properties include a palatial house in Tarn Taran pegged at Rs 1.5 crore. The 33 acres of land owned by him in Mehtabpur is estimated to be worth Rs 2 crore, while a commercial building in Tarn Taran is assessed at Rs 1.5 crore. The 5 acre land in Tarn Taran and the rice sheller jointly have been assessed at Rs 2 crore.

The VB also opened the joint locker held by Dheera and his wife in Punjab and Sind Bank. The locker yielded jewellery worth Rs 4.20 lakh.

The accounts in various banks in Ludhiana have so far revealed a deposit of nearly Rs 6 lakh. Interestingly, the search at Dheera’s house yesterday did not yield a single property document leading to reports that Sidhu’s main tout had ample time to clear out any incriminating evidence.
