Forex smuggler freed on bail

July 8: Additional chief metropolitan magistrate Shivajirao B Dhumal today ordered the release of Fatimah Yehya M L Al Omal, a Yemenese national who was arrested yesterday by the air intelligence unit (AIU) for possessing undeclared foreign currency.According to sources, she was intercepted by AIU sleuths while she was about to board a Cathay Pacific flight bound to Baharin yesterday. She had concealed US dollar 17,000 in her bag. Sources added that she had not declared the currency while entering the country. She was released on bail on a surety of Rs one lakh.
