CHENNAI, August 3: The St.Thomas Mount, a landmark of Chennai, will be the site of a forestation effort by the State Forest Department, in association with the World Wide Fund for Nature (India) and the Officer's Training Authority, apart from the Church authorities. About 500 saplings will be planted during the first phase of the programme. The mount is so named in memory of the apostle St. Thomas, believed to have been murdered there.
