Scientists at Chandigarh’s Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CSFL) concluded that the Salman Khan-Aishwarya tapes were doctored after meticulous tests that showed mismatch in voices for three words, the most repeated ones. A computerised voice analysis system (CVAS) of these left scientists convinced that the voices were not of the stars.

The words were: ‘f***’ and ‘bitch’ for Salman, and ‘Salman’ for Aishwarya.

‘‘You f***ing bitch, f*** you,’’ is what the male voice repeatedly says on tape. ‘‘ f*** you, Salman Khan,’’ is how the female voice responds.

‘‘While taking voice samples from both stars, we made sure that the prepared text given to both stars (to read out) had both the abuses. Our CVAS system did a micro-acoustic analysis and found the samples were not matching,’’ said a senior CFSL official involved in the probe.

In the tapes, the male voice utters ‘f***’ 27 times and ‘bitch’ thrice. The female voice uses the F-word only once.

‘‘We kept in mind that the male caller was apparently drunk and he could have slurred. The accent, pitch were closely examined,’’ the official said.

The CFSL lab report mentions that there were extraneous voices in the background. ‘‘The recording in the tape does not seem to have been done in a natural way. There seem to be some additions and deletions to the tape,’’ says the report.
