PATIALA, April 16: Punjab Languages Department Director Dr Madan Lal Hasija has underlined the need for following the teachings of the Sikh Gurus. He was presiding over a function organised by the Punjab Agarwal Intellectuals’ Forum at the Bhasha Bhawan yesterday in celebration of the Khalsa tercentenary.

He said the Gurus preached universal brotherhood and service of humanity, and that their teachings were even more relevant today.

Others who spoke on the occasion were former head of the Hindi Department Dr Manmohan Sehgal, former head of the Departmentof Laws M. R. Garg, also the president of the forum, former head of Dept of Business Management Dr Gurdeep Singh, and Dr S. D. Gajrani of the Department of History in the Correspondence Courses Department.

Dr S.K. Gupta, professor in Zoology, Multani Mal Modi Degree College, who is secretary of the forum, conducted the proceedings.
