BANGALORE, June 26: Five-year-old Harpreet Singh, a Lower-KG student of a city school, had been subjected to violence, often resulting in injuries, by school authorities for a year, because his parents had not paid the donation demanded by the school, according to a police complaint lodged by the child’s mother, Surinder Kaur. She said in her complaint that the child was beaten up several times, leading to swellings on his feet, and once, even an injury over his eye, which required stitches. Her complaints to the Principal went in vain. She was told to take the child away as he "did not know his ABC", and later, she was warned that the treatment would continue till the donation was paid, Kaur said in her complaint. The school authorities were not available for comment.
