NASHIK, Nov 24: Five youths from Uttar Pradesh have been arrested for looting the passengers of the Kurla-Gorakhpur Kushinagar Express early on Saturday between Igatpuri and Nashik. Two of their accomplices have absconded.
The police recovered valuables worth Rs 14,000 and a countrymade revolver and a knife from them. The accused, Kishor Kavet, Munna Sohni, Suryabhan Maurya, Jaikumar Gupta and Kamlesh Vijay, have been remanded to police custody till December 3.
The accused boarded the train at Igatpuri and then began to loot the passengers. The dacoits then pulled the alarm chain and escaped.
