The 31st AGM of Reliance Industries to be held in Mumbai on Wednesday will create a history of sorts.For the first time, Anil Ambani, will be absent from the dais following the split between the Ambani brothers. In another first, the AGM is expected to approve highest ever remuneration of Rs 1 crore to its non-executive directors. Chairman Mukesh Ambani is expected to unveil a mega expansion plan of the company at the meeting.Shareholders are expecting the company to spell out more details about the split. Though Anil had indicated that he will attend the company’s AGM for ‘discount coupons’ all eyes will be on Mukesh Ambani.RIL will seek shareholders’ approval for a resolution to increase the payment of commission aggregating to Rs 1 crore annually to its non-executive directors for five years from the fiscal ended March 31. On the agenda is the rise in the number of auditors to match the growth in size of the company. It has also proposed to appoint Deloitte Haskins and Sells, along with the retiring auditors Chaturvedi and Shah as auditors from the scheduled AGM for one year.
