MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 17: Marathwada’s trust with software industries will begin on Friday when the former deputy chief minister, Gopinath Munde, will formally inaugurate the region’s first ever software infotect venture Rudranee Infotect Pvt. Ltd. in the presence of Pradeep Rawat and Chandrakant Khaire, both MPs and members of consultative committee for information technology (IT) set up by the Government of India.
Rudranee is so far the only company to have registered itself with the State Government’s Information Technology park set up in Aurangabad. The Chief Minister, Vilasrao Deshmukh, inaugurated the park last month.
Rudranee’s technical promoters, however, have more than ten years of experience in the software training and development fields and are ready to take on from a varied kind of projects, said Vivek Deshpande, the group’s managing director.
In fact, the company will release its first software package of hospital management system, to the Kamal Nayan Bajaj Hospital here, on the day of its inauguration. The package is an outcome of over six months of laborious work by his team, Deshpande said.
The company’s main thrust would be software development, training, consultancy and exports. So far, the company has established strategic alliances with Techno Solutions from USA, Novatech Software services, Nagpur Rendezvous computer services, Hyderabad.
The company has already prepared a number of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) packages to suit various industrial units, including that on ISO 9000 documentation control and management.
Talking to The Indian Express, Deshpande, a close confidant and friend of Union Information and Technology Minister Pramod Mahajan, (who too hails from Marathwada) said, having firmly established himself in the construction business for the last seven years, it was high time he diversified his expertise into new ventures.
Moreover, with Mahajan tryinging to boost information technology at the Centre in such a major way, inspiration was not far away, he says. Incidentally, Deshpande belongs to Latur, the hometown of Chief Minister, Vilasrao Deshmukh.
Rudranee constructions, currently hsa projects over worth Rs 150 croe at its hands, almost one third of which fall in the Krishna Valley Irrigation Development Corporation in western Maharashtra.
Initially the new company will operate from a 2000 sq.ft. well-equipped office located in the heart of the city. Currently nearly, Rs 50 lakh have been invested in deputing the staff and acquiring infrastructure, Deshpande said.
He soon hopes to increase the investment many fold once he shifts to the actual Infotect Prk premises, and the high brand connectivity that the state government pormised is in place.
Deshpande who accompanied former Chief Minister, Manohar Joshi, on several business tours abroad, said he was in the process of expanding making more joint ventures with software companies there.
