NEW DELHI, April 23: Goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted when a fire broke out in a shoe manufacturing unit in the Mayapuri area of south-west Delhi early this morning.
The fire broke out at around 4.30 and took 25 fire tenders an hour and a half to douse it. No one was injured.
The fire broke out from a PVC godown on the ground floor of the unit and quickly spread to the first floor causing extensive damage, according to the fire department. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
