Sunil Dutt is a multi-faceted personality - actor, director, producer, social worker and politician - and also pioneer of the cancer awareness drive in the country after his wife Nargis was struck by it in the early Eighties. He is also the father of Sanjay Dutt, who seems to have turned the dark corner. In Pune recently to inaugurate the M.N. Budhrani Cancer Institute, he had this to say:On how far his cancer drive had progressed: ``When Nargis died, there was an awakening of sorts about cancer. And people started taking an interest in how to tackle it. Especially NRIs, with whose help the Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation was started and has collected millions of dollars to upgrade cancer institutes in India.''How does he manage?: ``I am a firm believer in the fact that if you join hands with with people who believe in your ideology and you believe in theirs, then you can work towards a certain goal.Does he never give up?: ``No. I have been taught to fight and face debacles, never to lose my dignityunder any circumstances, which is what I've always done.''
