The Forward Bloc, a constituent of the Left Front on whose support the UPA Government depends, today gave the Centre a 100-day ultimatum to implement the Common Minimum Programme. ‘‘The performance of the UPA government in the last 100 days is dismal. But we want to give it another 100 days to pull up its socks and start implementing the CMP,’’ MP and FB general secretary Debabrata Biswas said. ‘‘After the expiry of 100 days, we will review its performance again and discuss our next course of action. And if we are unhappy, we may even consider withdrawing support to the Government.’’

Biswas, however, clarified that a decision to pull out of the Government would not be theirs alone. ‘‘So far as the question of withdrawing support, it would not be an individual decision, it would be a decision of the Left Front as a whole,’’ he said.

CPI(M) state committee secretary Anil Biswas said the Left support to the UPA Government could not be taken for granted.
