CHANDIGARH, Jan 8: Consistenly hitting with power and booming serve, qualifier Syed Fazaluddin of India raced past current Indian National champion and seventh seed Marcus Hilper of Germany in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 in the Escort Yahama ITF Men’s Future Tennis Circuit (2nd leg) at the centre court of the CLTA Complex in Sector 10 here today.

His rival in the final of the $10,000 prize money tournament will be Prahlad Srinath, also of India. Srinath, the only Indian to get direct entry into the main draw, ended the challenge of eighth seed and 544th ATP ranked, Andrew Rueb of United States. Though grasscourt is not his favourite surface, Srinath still outplayed his rival to win 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).

Indian challenge in the doubles ended when Amod Wakalkar and Kyle Rudman of South Africa lost to Ali hamadeh (Labanon) and Andrew Rueb (USA) 6-3, 6-4.
