Cheteswar Pujara’s loss will be Faiz Fazal’s gain. After the Rajkot boy missed out on the Border-Gavaskar scholarship on age factor, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has replaced him with Vidarbha’s Fazal.Fazal, who could not make it to U-19 World Cup squad last year after a fracture to his left thumb, will be leaving for Adelaide on July 3. The past year was disappointing for Fazal who, in Dilip Vengsarkar’s opinion, has been one of the most impressive batsmen of his age. Though the 2004-05 season had not been among the best for the talented Fazal, he thinks he was lucky to get this opporunity. ‘‘That’s a different level altogether. Right now I’m thanking my stars and thinking about the trip,’’ he told The Sunday Express.
