PATIALA, June 1: Agitating leaders of the PSEB Driver Operators Union Kanhaiya Singh and Surinder Singh Khatra who were sitting on a fast-unto-death were forcibly lifted by police personnel to provide them with medical help as their physical condition was deteriorating continuously. The two have been shifted to the local Rajindra Hospital.

Meanwhile, a third leader of the Union, Channi Lal also started a fast-unto-death. Kanhiya Singh had been forcibly lifted for medical aid earlier also.According to a release issued here, the drivers have criticised the alleged dual policy adopted by the board management. They said that on one side the management was willing to solve the problems while sitting across the table and on the other side, their salaries had been stopped from disbursement. They also alleged that their colleagues working at Ropar Thermal Plant were being threatened with show cause notices and transfers. Meanwhile, yet another round of talks has been fixed for tomorrow between the agitators and the board management.
