Arbaaz Khan gets candid about himself, Malaika and his work…
What is keeping you busy these days?
Looking for a pup for my son, Arhaan! He has been pleading to get him a pet for a long time, though Malaika will kill me if she learns about it.
Talking about Malaika, did she like your roughish character in Fashion?
She loved it, as it was a very meaty character and rather stylish. Why only her, a lot of ladies have told me the same. I am only waiting for the young girls to take note of me as well!
What do you have to say to being called one of the most supportive husbands in the film industry?
To allow my wife to pursue her dreams and give her enough space to do that is my nature. And then Malaika has never given me reason to complain about neglecting her wifely duties.
Abhijit Sarin of Fashion or Ballu of Jaane Tu …Ya Jaane Na?
Ballu of course! I am usually associated with serious roles and it was the first time that I got to play a comic character, even though it was a cameo. And two men trotting into a disco bar in cowboy costumes is something that people cannot get over!
What are you like in real life?
Contrary to how I am portrayed in films, I’m a fun-loving person, who has funny men like Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala as friends! And I am dying to do comedies and light-hearted roles.
Which is your favourite comedy flick?
Hello Brother! If it had been released now, it would have been a huge hit, as it is the kind of flick that the audience wants today!
Can you mention any comic scene in a film which stands out in your mind?
Mehmood’s scene in Pyar Kiye Jaa in which he narrates a film script to Om Prakash can still have me in splits. All comedians consider him as a reference when it comes to playing comic characters.
What prompted you to turn producer?
It’s every actor’s dormant desire to do something beyond acting. And then I came across this story, I had to make into a film with Bhai.
Will you take Salman Khan in all your films?
If the script does justice to Bhai’s star status and charisma, I will. Jab apne ghar mein badaam to kyoon nahin?
Which film are you looking forward to seeing, Yuvraaj, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi or Ghajini?
Bhai’s film of course!
