MUMBAI, JANUARY 28: Essar Steel Ltd incurred a net loss of Rs 116.05 crore during the third quarter ended December 31, 1999 despite a 11 per cent improvement in the total sales at Rs 683.76 crore from Rs 616.54 crore of corresponding period of the previous year. During the nine month period ended December 31,1999, the company's net loss moved up to Rs 395.56 crore, as against Rs 226.03 crore of the corresponding period of the previous year. Total income of the nine month period also declined to Rs 1691.20 crore from 1749.74 crore.
