PANCHKULA, JULY 19: District Congress workers sat on dharna and hunger strike at Shakti Bhawan Chowk in Sector 6 here today, to protest the erratic power supply in the township. District Congress Committee president R.S. Chauhan said the Bansi Lal Government had failed to provide 24-hour power supply in the state and gave the government seven days to improve power supply, failing which, he said the Congress would resort to other means of pressing for their demand. Other speakers stressed the difficulties faced by farmers and industrialists due to the frequent power cuts.
District Congress Committee vice-president Pawan Valecha, Pinjore block Congress president S.S.Nanda, industrialist Atul Nibber, advocate Darshan Singh Bishnoi and Citizens8217; Welfare Association president S.K.Nayyar were among the other people present on the occasion.
