KURUKSHETRA, June 9: During a meeting of the District Grievances Committee, here today, Deputy Commissioner T. V. S. N. Prasad warned the electricity and public health officials to restore the uninterrupted power and water supplies to the residents of the city. He directed them to remove all the illegal water and electricity connections in and around the area.

The residents of the city appealed to the Deputy Commissioner to check the illegal plying of the auto-rickshaws.

The DC has promulgated prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Cr PC in Shahabad, keeping in view the forthcoming Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee elections on June 10 for keeping safety and public tranquility.

The RJD’s key face and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav, party supremo Lalu Yadav’s son, will again contest from his stronghold Raghopur.
