PUNE, June 14: The University of Pune does not believe in sparing the rod while tightening its administration.

After imposing a dress code for its Class III and IV employees, the varsity has managed to oust Prof Vinay Dhumale, Director of the Educational Media Research Centre (EMRC) from the guest house.

Earlier, the university had pulled him up for staying put in the guest house for nearly a year, despite the availability of teachers’ quarters.

Highly-placed officials in the varsity told The Indian Express that the director of EMRC was asked to vacate the guest house premises in the first week of June. He moved out of the guest house on Friday.

Dhumale, who was appointed EMRC Director on May 5, 1997, is currently on medical leave and was unavailable for comment.
