EC seeks 305 companies of Central force for West Bengal

The EC has sought 305 companies of Central force in West Bengal, particularly in the southern and northern districts where outfits like the PW, MCC, KLO and other militant groups are active. Of about 49,000 booths in the state, 9,000 have already been identified as sensitive and 1,200 super-sensitive where additional Central force would be on duty to ensure peaceful and fair polls, state’s Chief Electoral Officer Basudev Bandopadhyay said. — (PTI)
