Left Front leaders in West Bengal today alleged that certain EC oberservers were going around tearing posters and interrogating their supporters on why they vote for the Left. The state goes to polls on May 10. CPM senior politburo member Prakash Karat, MP Dipankar Mukherjee and CPI general secretary A.B. Bardhan today met the full Commission with a complaint listing the names of the observers and constituencies. The Left leaders also alleged that the observers in Basirhat LS seat have even threatened to stage a flag-march in certain villages after casting aspersions on the high level of polling in the area.
