NAGPUR, July 15: Eastern Railway beat the less experienced South Eastern Railway to retain the All-India Inter-Railway men’s Team Championship here at the YMCA Robertson hall today.

Newcomer Amrish Chatterjee played well and won the first singles against Shivaji Dutta (22-20, 21-10) but fell in the decider to veteran Ganesh Kundu (Eastern Railway). Kundu, who won the second singles beating Debbrata Sana 22-20, 24-22, defeated Chatterjee 19-21, 21-15, 21-16 to win the match and title for his team.
