YAVATMAL, APRIL 6: Five teachers including the headmaster of Chichghat-based government-run ashramshala have been suspended for dereliction of duty by Tribal Commissioner (Amravati Division) Narasimhalu recently.

It was alleged that the teachers failed in noticing the fact that some other person had appeared at the March, 1999, SSC examination in place of one of the examinees at the ashramshala exam centre.

The incident came to light when the person who was appearing at the SSC exam instead of the real candidate met with an accident while returning from the exam centre. His kin were anxious to know as to why he (the person) had gone to the SSC centre when he had already appeared at the SSC exam and passed it.

Inquiries revealed that a Zilla Parishad member, who is non-matriculate, had filed an application to the State Education Board’s Amravati divisional office for appearing at the SSC exam which started from March 11 last. The board had permitted the 48-year-old ZP member to appear for the SSC exam and Chichghat ashramshala was allotted to him as the exam centre. Roll No of the ZP member was 132498.
