Sourav Ganguly and Glamorgan do not seem to bring any change in each other’s fortunes as Ganguly’s debut innings with the county ended just three balls for nothing. Sussex had earlier plundered the Glamorgan attack before declaring their innings 497/5. Glamorgan (289/7) might escape with a draw after the first day was washed out.
Bhajji improves
Harbhajan Singh hit a six for Surrey in his unbeaten 15 after a duck on his county debut. He also took two wickets to combine with Mohammed Akram’s five-for to bowl out Warwickshire for 209. Surrey declared their second innings close at 310/7, a lead of 131 setting Warwicks a target of 442 runs. They were 18/1 at stumps, with a day to go.

Somerset were bowled out for 105 bringing some life back to the rain-shortened game. Somerset, following on, were 17/0.
