DS-21 girls crowned

CHANDIGARH, Dec 1: The is Dev Samaj Senior Secondary School, Sector 21 were crowned the UT Inter-School (Girls) cricket champions, beating Government Model High School, Sector 28 by eight wickets in the final here today.

GMHS-28 managed only 128 for 8 in the allotted 25 overs. Tripat topscored with 31 while Swati chipped in with 21 as the Dev Samaj School bowlers did not allow any leverage to the batswoman. Amita and Sunita picked up three wickets each. The winners raced to the target losing only two wickets.

Natasha (38 n.o.) and Sunita (33) were the main scorers.
Scores: GMHS-28: 128 for 8 (Tripat 31, Swati 21; Amita 3-20, Sunita 3-22, Sheetal 2-22, Anuradha 2-18) lost to DSSSS-21: 129 for 2 (Natasha 38 n.o., Sunita 33).
