Indian vice-captain Rahul Dravid scored a quickfire 69 off 79 balls to guide Scotland to their first victory in the national league one-day cricket match in Hove yesterday.
Dravid’s fourth wicket partnership of 167 off 29 overs with centurion Joe Kent of South Africa helped Scotland register a six-wicket victory over Sussex Sharks, who set a target of 270.
Scotland were all at sea having lost three wickets with the total on 57 when Dravid entered the scene.
The elegant right-hander accepted the challenge immediately and built up the innings with Kent, who made 115 off 113 with 13 fours and a six, to win the match. Dravid struck seven boundaries during his knock.
In another match, India’s Yuvraj Singh was still struggling with his form making only five for Yorkshire in their total of 183 as the county lost to Gloucestershire by eight wickets.
