Hopes of over 3.5 lakh dismissed Tamil Nadu government employees for an early reinstatement were dashed today with the government asking the departmental heads not to take a ‘‘hasty decision’’ on revoking the dismissal orders.
Personnel and administrative reforms secretary Maikandadevan, in a circular to secretaries of various departments, said the Madras HC, which dismissed a batch of petitions by employees’ organisations challenging the dismissals, has given ‘‘enough time’’ to government to take a decision on appeals filed by employees to reconsider dismissals.
