MUMBAI, DECEMBER 29: Fourteen doctors were recently awarded the Human Care awards of the millennium for their outstanding contribution to society in their specialised fields of medicine.

Instituted by the Punjab and Sindh Bank, the awards were presented by Sheila Dixit, Chief Minister of Delhi who was invited to the city for the functin. The chairman and managing director, S S Kohli said that the bank felt responsible towards the medical profession and had introduced schemes to finance the needs of doctors in setting up nursing homes and for purchasing equipment.

Those who were presented the awards are Dr Naresh Trehan, Dr RR Kasliwal, Dr I S Virdi, Dr YP Munjal, Dr Sudarshan Aggarwal, Dr BN Tandon, Dr Ganesh Mani, Dr Sunny Bakshi, Dr Narottam Puri, Dr SK Gupta, Dr Prem Kakkar, Dr S K Chopra, Dr Sheila Mehra and Dr Sharad Lakhotia.
