A doctor who was allegedly held captive by her parents in Bangladesh has returned to London. Humayra Abedin arrived on Tuesday. Her parents brought her to a court in Bangladesh after a British court issued an order under a law to protect women from forced marriages. Abedin, a British resident, says she’s happy to be home. She came to Britain six years ago and is working to become a general practitioner. She returned to Dhaka in August after being told her mother was ill.Bangladeshi Judge Syed Mahmud Hossain didn’t disclose what happened during the four months Abedin was with her family, saying they contained some “objectionable elements.” He has called the parents’ actions “not acceptable.”
