CHANDIGARH, DECEMBER 16: Senior leader and dissident Akali Dal MLA Ravi Inder Singh, who is also a member of the all powerful Political Affairs Committee of the party, was on Wednesday suspended from the party for an indefinite period. The action is being seen as a warning signal to MLAs who had started rallying around Ravi Inder Singh after the humiliating defeat of the party in the Lok Sabha elections.A ``unanimous'' decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the party working committee which also authorised party president and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to take further action. After the expulsion of former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Gurcharan Singh Tohra from the party, former Speaker Ravi Inder Singh is the second senior leader facing action in recent times. The working committee went ahead with the agenda following dismissal of a petition earlier in the day filed by Ravi Inder Singh.
