MUMBAI, DEC 18: Actress Dimple Kapadia today deposed before a metropolitan magistrate in Mumbai, as a prosecution witness against her husband in an offence registered by the Income Tax department against Rajesh Khanna for alleged contravention of Income Tax Act by him.According to the prosecution case, Dimple Kapadia and Somu Mukherji were partners of Ashirwad Mini Theatre at Juhu which was founded by Rajesh Khanna.Rajesh Khanna while filing the income tax returns had failed to mention about the income procurred from the said theatre.While, deposing before the metropolitan magistrate C L Thool, Dimple Kapadia during the examination by advocate H Gupte said that a sum of Rs 75,000 was invested by Rajesh Khanna in her name in the said partnership firm which was arranged as a loan for herself by Rajesh Khanna.She also told the court that she did not know whether she was required to sign for obtaining the loan. Dimple also did not know whether she had to give power of attorney to her husband.Dimpleanswered most of the questions in negative saying she did not remember. She also kept on looking at her advocates Purnav Badhika and Junaid S Shahwany for some signal.
