NAGPUR, MARCH 28: Introduction of English at primary level is a positive step as it would help the students in future by enabling them to take the competitive exams with more confidence, Anil Deshmukh, Minister of State for School Education said here recently.

The Minister was speaking after he inaugurated a science and art exhibition organised by the students of the local Sindhi Hindi School. He was felicitated on the occasion by Sindhi Hindi Vidya Samiti. N Kumar, industrialist, was the chief guest.

Speaking further, Deshmukh said that the teachers have a great responsibility of shaping up the future of the students. If the students get good guidance they can progress well, despite the school or college they are educated in. In this direction, organising competitive programmes such as art, science exhibitions are important, he said.

N Kumar said that the students should be imparted practical education. C K Vaswani, president of the Vidya Samiti, R K Bakhru and H R Bakhru also spoke on the occasion. P S Khilnani, principal of the school made the introductory remarks.

The minister went about the exhibition and interacted with the students. Deepak Jaisinghani, P K Jotwani, Shamlal Gurbani and others were present on the occasion.
