Congress chief Sonia Gandhi is all set to downsize Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee and put it in election mode.
She has summoned newly-appointed MPCC chief Ranjeet Deshmukh to Delhi tomorrow and is likely to finalise a new team, to be announced later this week. Every office-bearer, including the president, will be subject to tri-monthly performance reviews by AICC general secretary incharge of Maharashtra affairs, Vayalar Ravi, and can be dropped from the team if found incompetent. Ravi has also asked Deshmukh to seek the advice of former MPCC presidents, CMs and senior party leaders in compiling a list of new office-bearers.
At least three-fourths of the members from Govindrao Adik’s team will not find a place in the team due to their performance, said an AICC source.
