Bangladeshi national Maulana Nuriddin Sarkar, who was deported from the country four years ago for running an illegal madarsa, resurfaced in the city last month, only to be deported again a week ago. Sarkar first came to India in 1984. Six years later in 2000, local police arrested him on charges of running an illegal madarsa and Sarkar was deported to Bangladesh.
However, on May 28 this year, Sarkar again turned up at the Foreign Registration Office in Pune and applied for his registration and a long-term visa. The FRO staff checked on his antecedents and brought it to the notice of the Ministry of External Affairs, who issued a fresh deportation order on June 10.
