Tension gripped Rajouri when agitated over the killing of two brothers — Koushal (22) and Vinod (33) — in IED blast at Moti Bazar on Sunday people blocked the road at Tandwal. They were demanding two government jobs for the family members of the deceased, apart from relief.The protesters turned violent after police lathicharged them. Besides smashing the panes of the Maruti Gypsy of Rajouri police station SHO, the crowd also stoned buses. Many of them were rounded up.Bandh was observed in the town by both Muslims and Hindus in protest. At about 8 a.m., they took out a procession and held a demonstration at City Chowk. Later, Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, announced relief of Rs 1 lakh each, besides a job to one member of the family. Three persons, including a RAW officer, were killed and 27 others injured in the blast. Their bodies were cremated in the evening.
